ABOUT THE BOOK
Leaving Suzie Pye
Joe has had a great life, untroubled by career or monogamy. He’s convinced that, whatever he’s doing, he’d still really rather be having sex — if only middle age hadn’t made it so hard to find a woman who will share his enthusiasm. When he meets Suzie Pye she seems just the ticket — she even says she only wants a sexual relationship. But nothing is ever that simple.

This is a very funny novel about lust, love and the meaning of life as seen through the eyes of a middle-aged Romeo. Joe, 49, is driven by desire. Since his 10-year marriage failed, he has been seeking a woman who shares his enthusiasm for sex. By page two I was laughing aloud at the narrator’s deadpan delivery. This is a witty, spirited take on love in the modern world.
Brimming with energy and good humour as it shows us so much of Australian society as it is and soon will be.
Rips along with verve and confidence… funny, energetic and full of life.
